May is the peak of spring in the Cantabrian Mountains, that period in which the vegetation begins to pull strongly and transforms the landscape, filling it with life and energy. In this workshop, led by nature photographer Pep Gassó, we will combine landscape photography with wildlife from hide to illustrate the Cantabrian spring in the most intimate way. Daffodils and forests, mountains and valleys, glacial cirques and gorges,… We will visit the best scenarios of the Riaño Mountain and the Picos de Europa National Park to enjoy its landscape but also its wildlife. It’s the best time to photograph all the woodpeckers in the area, from the spectacular Black woodpecker, to the Middle spotted woodpecker and the Eurasian wryneck. We will find the white-throated dipper feeding the chicks in the waterfall, the Egyptian vultures will pose on the rocky crests of La Trébede and we will have the opportunity to photograph the golden eagles in La Uña. For this, we will have at our disposal the full range of hides that Aveshide Crémenes has in Crémenes, Lario and Almanza, including many new features for this season. We will also enjoy the breeding season of high mountain birds, such as Rufous-tailed rock thrush and Bluethroat. A trip that will allow us to gather an exceptional collection of images that, without a doubt, will bring us countless emotions and great memories.
Pep will guide us in this process, with theoretical and practical expositions that will combine technique and composition but that will be loaded above all with good experiences.
There are three formats or dates to enjoy this experience: from 9th to 12th May, from 12th to 15th, or to do it all these days in a single workshop, in order to get more out of visiting these wonderful places.
