2022 has brought the resurgence of the El Taray Lagoon. After a long cycle of drought, this rainy spring has returned La Mancha Humid to all its splendour: the vegetation is sprouting strongly, the birds have arrived in large numbers and diversity to the lagoon, the landscapes are turning green preparing for a truly spectacular month of June, as it had been years since people lived in this area. What better opportunity to enjoy the nature of La Mancha!
In this workshop, led by photographer Pep Gassó, we will combine landscape photography with photography from hide to illustrate spring in La Mancha in the most intimate way. White-headed ducks and black-necked grebes photographed from the water, grain fields and windmills in fantastic and well-planned locations, water and dry land… a contrast of experiences and emotions that will allow us to bring together a spectacular set of images in the central moment of spring.
During the first days of the workshop, we will take advantage of the first and last lights of the day to photograph the setting and rising of the full moon, choosing the best protagonists for the foreground: Don Quixote’s windmills, castles and traditional country buildings, mosaics of crops and groves, etc. These experiences with the landscape of La Mancha will give way to days focused on wildlife photography from the hide, taking advantage of the exceptional moment in the lagoon to exploit the possibilities of hydrohide with an incredible diversity of highly attractive species such as the imperial eagle, lesser kestrel, roller, hoopoe, little owl, marsh harrier, white-headed duck, black-necked grebe, etc. And throughout this process, Pep will guide us with theoretical expositions and practical advice that will combine planning, technique and composition, but that will be loaded above all with great moments.
There are three formats or dates to enjoy this experience: from 13th to 16th June, from 16th to 19th, or to do it all these days in a single workshop, in order to get more out of visiting these wonderful places.
